Relations among several nuclear and electronic density functional reactivity indexes

چکیده
An expansion of the energy functional in terms of the total number of electrons and the normal coordinates within the canonical ensemble is presented. A comparison of this expansion with the expansion of the energy in terms of the total number of electrons and the external potential leads to new relations among common density functional reactivity descriptors. The formulas obtained provide explicit links between important quantities related to the chemical reactivity of a system. In particular, the relation between the nuclear and the electronic Fukui functions is recovered. The connection between the derivatives of the electronic energy and the nuclear repulsion energy with respect to the external potential offers a proof for the ‘‘Quantum Chemical le Chatelier Principle.’’ Finally, the nuclear linear response function is defined and the relation of this function with the electronic linear response function is given. © 2003 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1615763#

متن کاملElectronic properties studies of Benzene under Boron Nitride nano ring field
In this study, B12N12 Nano ring has been selected because it consist of four 6-side rings and polar bonds B-N which in comparison with non-polar bonds C-C, is more suitable for the study of the absorption of other compounds. So reactivity and stability of Benzene alone and in the presence B12N12 nano ring field checked. To determine the non-bonded interaction energies between Benzene and B12N12...

متن کاملMolecular grand-canonical ensemble density functional theory and exploration of chemical space.
We present a rigorous description of chemical space within a molecular grand-canonical ensemble multi-component density functional theory framework. A total energy density functional for chemical compounds in contact with an electron and a proton bath is introduced using Lagrange multipliers which correspond to the energetic response to changes of the elementary particle densities. From a gener...
متن کاملTiO2/Graphene oxide nanocomposite as an ideal NO gas sensor: A density functional theory study
We performed a density functional theory investigation on the structural and electronic properties of pristine and nitrogen-doped TiO2/Graphene oxide nanocomposites as the adsorbents for the removal of toxic NO molecules in the environment. We presented the most stable adsorption configurations and examined the interaction of NO molecule with these doped and undoped nanocomposites. It turns out...
